Hand Massage Volunteer - NMGH

The hand massage volunteers are based at the voluntary service office at NMGH. All new volunteers receive peer support and training by existing and trained volunteers. The volunteers visit the mainly the adult inpatient wards within the hospital. The massages are offered to patients as a comfort and relaxing therapy and are a welcome distraction from their treatment & recovery. Whilst the massage is being given the volunteers generally chat and listen to the patients and is another method of befriending.
It is a flexible opportunity which is available Monday - Friday 9am - 11am
